Conley Orear "Jack" Brown, Sr. (Jan. 21, 1900 AL - Dec. 17, 1973 AL) is the son of Floyd Nicholas Brown (Feb. 05, 1857 GA - Apr. 04, 1915 AL) and his second wife, Ona Mahaley Winn Brown (Nov. 18, 1874 GA - Aug. 02, 1959 AL).

Floyd Nicholas Brown (Feb. 05, 1857 GA - Apr. 04, 1915 AL)is buried at Nixon Chapel Cemetery, Nixon Chapel, Marshall County, Alabama.

Ona Mahaley Winn Brown (Nov. 18, 1874 GA - Aug. 02, 1959 AL)is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Attalla, Etowah County, Alabma

Floyd Nicholas Brown (Feb. 05, 1857 GA - Apr. 04, 1915 AL) and his second wife, Ona Mahley Winn Brown (Nov. 18, 1874 GA - Aug. 02, 1959 AL) were married Jan. 28, 1891 in Blount Co., AL, and they had seven children together by their marriage:

(1.) Lee Hayden Brown (Oct. 30, 1892 AL - July 19, 1971 AL), he is the husband of Mary Jane Boyd.

(2.) Glenn Floyd Brown (Jan. 21, 1895 - Feb. 28, 1966 AL), he is the husband of Frances O'Rear Brown (June 8, 1906 - Nov. 13, 1987 AL)

(3.) Jay Henry Brown (May 31, 1897 - Apr. 03, 1967 AL)

(4.) Mollie Mae Brown (June 01, 1905 AL - Apr. 04, 1973 AL), she married Meldon Glayds Wells.

(5.) Fred Noah Brown (July 02, 1908 AL - Jan. 16, 1982 AL), he is the husband of Myrtle Sitz Brown (March 16, 1913 AL - May 05, 1984 AL).

Conley Orear "Jack" Brown, Sr.(Jan. 21, 1900 AL - Dec. 17, 1973 AL) and Nora Elizabeth "Teenie" Gober Brown (Oct. 05, 1905 AL - Dec. 21, 1975 AL), were married on Sept. 30, 1925 at the boundary line between Marshall County, Alabama and Etowah County, Alabama, in Boaz, Alabama. They had a Double Wedding Ceremony with Nora Elizabeth "Teenie" Gober Brown's sister, Atha Johnny "Tuggie" Gober Lewis (Sept. 30, 1907 AL - March 14, 1987 AL) and Alston Roscoe Lewis, Sr. (Dec. 09, 1896 AL - Oct. 09, 1935 ILL). The two couples stood on one side of the railroad tract (where the railroad tract was the exact boundary line between Marshall & Etowah Counties) and J. H. Haley, M.G. stood on the other side of the railroad tract and performed the double wedding ceremony.

Conley Orear "Jack" Brown, Sr.(Jan. 21, 1900 AL - Dec. 17, 1973 AL) and Nora Elizabeth "Teenie" Gober Brown (Oct. 05, 1905 AL - Dec. 21, 1975 AL) had three children together by their marriage:

(1.) Betty Lou Brown (Jan. 02, 1928 AL - Aug. 1987 AL), she married "Dink" McGehee, Sr.

(2.) Conley Orear "Jack" "Buddy" Brown, Jr. (Sept. 15, 1931 AL - Jan. 02, 1996 AL), he married first to Mary Powell, he married second to Ruby Horton.

(3.) Jo Ann "Joan" Brown Belyeu (Feb. 03, 1932 AL - Jan. 08, 2006 AL), she married John Hobert Belyeu, Jr. (July 25, 1930 AL - Apr. 13, 2008 AL).

Everyone in Attalla, Etowah County, Alabama knew Conley Orear "Jack" Brown, Sr. by his nickname "Jack" Brown. He and his wife, Nora Elizabeth "Teenie" Gober Brown were well known and well respected citizens of Attalla, AL. Conley Orear "Jack" Brown was the Manager of the "Liberty Theatre" which was located in downtown Attalla, AL on 4th St., and after they built the new "Etowah Theatre" on 5th Ave. in downtown Attalla and right behind the "Liberty Theatre", he was also the Manager of the "Etowah Theatre" in Attalla, Etowah County AL until his retirement. Conley Orear "Jack" Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church in Attalla, AL and a member of the Masonic Lodge Attalla F and AM Lodge 383, and the Exchange Club.

The obituary for Conley Orear "Jack" Brown, Sr. was published in "The Gadsden Times"; newspaper; Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama; Tuesday, December 18, 1973:

BROWN, C. O. (Jack), 73, 709 North 4th St. died yesterday at 3 p.m. in a local hospital after a brief illness.

Survivors include his Wife, Nora Elizabeth Brown, daughters, Mrs. Betty McGehee, Attalla, Mrs. Joan Belyeu, Gadsden; son Jack "Buddy" Brown, Gallant; sisters, Mrs. A. C. Guest, Gadsden; Mrs. Lillie Kimberley, Boaz; brother, Fred Brown, Attalla; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild.

Services will be tomorrow 11 a.m. at Morgan Chapel with the Revs. Harold Chandler and Harold Wells officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Members of the Attalla F and AM Lodge 383 will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ralph Wesley, staff and nurses of Holy Name of Jesus Hospital, George P. Walker, Jr., Charles W. Burke, Pete Brown, Alston Lewis, Jack Malcom; Herbert Phillips, Charlie Walker, Bud O'Rear and all other personal friends.

Mr. Brown was a native of Boaz, but had resided in Attalla most of his life. He was manager of the Liberty and Etowah theatres in Attalla for many years, a member of the Attalla First Baptist Church and the Attalla F and AM Lodge 383.

There will be Masonic graveside rites with the Attalla F and AM Lodge 383 directing. The body will lie in state at Morgan Chapel from 2 p m today through the hour of service.

The obituary for Mrs. Ona Mahaley Winn Brown, was published on the front page of "The Gadsden Times"; newspaper; Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama on August 03, 1959:

Death Claims Mrs. Brown

Mrs. Ona Mahaley Winn Brown, 84, of 902 Odell Avenue, native of Douglasville, Ga., and resident of Etowah and Marshall counties most of her life, died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. M. G. Wells, in Boaz.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Attalla.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in Collier-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Ford McDonald and the Rev. A. T. Sprouse officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Attalla. The Body sill be at Collier-Butler's through the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be George P. Walker, Jr., Eugene Gray, Hobert Belyeu, Charles O'Rear, Frank Womack, Leslie Wimpee, Cecil Ray Sitz, Charles W. Burke and Allie Kimberly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Bradley, Dr. Lindsey Miller, Dr. Todd Cross, Dr. Marston Hunt, the Rev. Donald Mason, the Rev. Henry Heath, the Rev. R. S. Fox and the Rev. J. F. Breeden, N. R. Miller, L. J. Brown, Merlin O'Rear, members of the Attalla Police Department and all personal friends.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Wells are another daughter, Mrs. A. C. Guest, Jr., Gadsden: a stepdaughter, Mrs. W. L. Kimberly, Gadsden; five sons, Police Chief Glenn F. Brown and Jack Brown of Attalla; Jay H. Brown, Boaz; Lee H. Brown, Gadsden, and Fred N. Brown, Grant; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
