Hobert was a native of Etowah County, born July 25, 1930. He grew up in Gadsden, AL and joined the United States Marine Corp., where he served two enlistments. He was a member of IBEW, and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 28 years of service. He was a member of Paden Baptist Church and was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Brown Belyeu; mother, Mary Gentry and father, John H. Belyeu, Sr.
He is survived by his sons, John H. "Johnny" Belyeu, III (Ginger) and Danny B. Belyeu (Peggy); grandchildren, Emily Fox (Stewart), Melinda Wyatt, Kimberly Cash (Johnathan) and Kristen Belyeu; great-grandchildren, Breanna Wyatt, Haleigh Wyatt and Rylie Fox; and a sister, Faye Stevens.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Kaleem, Dr. Peyton and the 9th floor nurses and staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. A special thank you to sitters and family friends, Theresa Walker and Barbara Harp; and Brother Jerald Adams.
