Born in Seattle to Frank and Gertrude (Leng) Forster, Jean graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1937 and from the University of Washington in 1941. In 1944, she married Charles "Tex" B. Dominy in New Orleans.
Jean was the Tracyton Community Library co-founder. She also was a Sun newspaper Unsung Hero. She was a kindergarten teacher at Tracyton Elementary for 19 years before retiring in 1979. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth (Forster) Patterson. Survivors include her husband of Tracyton; sons Frank Dominy of San Diego, Calif., and Charles Dominy of Savana, Ga.; daughters, Lee Anne Derror of Poulsbo, Carol Gardner of Seattle and Betty Dominy of Edmonds; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchidren.
