Cynthia Johnsen of Silverdale, Sept. 30, 1917 to Sept. 26, 2008
Cynthia Johnsen, age 90, passed away on September 26 in Silverdale from natural causes.
She was born on September 30, 1917, in Brownsville, WA, to John and Ester (Nyholm) Baker. After graduating from Port Washington Union High School in Silverdale in 1935, she attended Success Business College in Seattle.
She worked in the Seattle area before working for Standard Plumbing and Heating in Bremerton during the construction of the Westpark complex.
Cynthia married Cecil W. Johnsen on October 11, 1940, and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed trips to the ocean, Reno, listening to talk radio, country music, the Mariners and Seahawks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil in 2001; and sister, Bernice Keeney of Fairbanks, Alaska, in 2005.
Survivors are sons, Brian (Donna), Dean (Aida), both of Silverdale; brothers, John Baker of Bremerton, Henry Baker of Shelton; sister, Marion Fredrickson of Seattle; as well as granddaughters, Lisa (Seattle), Tanya (Silverdale); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A family graveside will be held on Wednesday, October 8, at 1 p.m. at the Miller-Woodlawn Committal Station in Bremerton.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Silverdale.
