Carrie Anna Junker, daughter of Frank and Minnie Nickel Kaiser of Western, Nebraska, was born February 5, 1894. She died April 25, 1988, at David Place Nursing Home in David City, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at the German Methodist church at Western, and was married to Peter H. Junker of rural Fairbury, at her parent's home on February 6, 1913. She and her husband were blessed with four children; three preceding her in death; Eugene Junker who died in infancy, the twin sister of Irene's, Iverna Ellen Junker who died at age 2, and Norwood Junker in 1984. Her husband Peter H. Junker died February of 1930 and in August of 1939, she married Ira Junker. After his death in 1954, she moved into Fairbury, locating at 1503 D street. She kept very active most of her life, working on the farms, sewing, baking, keeping scrapbooks, and enjoying life, in general. She enjoyed going to visit with relatives and old friends until falling and breaking her hip which left her in the Heritage Nursing Home at Fairbury, for about the last ten years of her life, being a resident of the home at David City, just for a short while before her death. Her parents preceded her in death, her father died in 1939, her mother in 1944, a brother Walter died in 1919 in Germany, a brother Harry died in 1970 at Western. Surviving are her daughter Irene Watson and her husband Harry of Fairbury, Nebraska, her daughter-in-law Selma Junker of Green River,Wyoming, and numerous grandchildren. One grandson, Norwood "Junior" Junker also preceded her in death. Services were held at the Nuckolls-Meyer Funeral Home, burial in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, northwest of Fairbury. Pallbearers were Vic Mares, Jake Eilts, Ervin Warnke, John Howell, Ervin Junker, and Harold Junker.
