Henry Alt died at his home north of Pacific, Thursday, Feb. 13, 1913, after a short illness.
He was born in Hasa Darmstadt, Germany, Oct. 14, 1843, and came to this country in 1850. He and his parents lived at New Orleans, St. Louis, Barretts Station and finally came to Pacific to live.
For a number of years he ran a tin store in a frame building that stood on what is now the city lot, west of the Transcript office.
Mr. Alt's first wife died and a number of years ago he married the second time.
Deceased leaves four sons and two daughters by the first marriage, his widow and her son and daughter and one brother, besides other relatives and friends to morn his death.
Melrose G.A.R. post of which deceased was a member conducted the funeral services and buried him in the home cemetery Sunday.
