Funeral: Noon Friday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills
Memorial Park. Wake: 2 p.m. Friday at 1944 Mesquite in Hurst. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Billie Lou Mayfield was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Shreveport. She was the second daughter of
Charles and Lima Cowgill of Atlanta. She was a founding member of St. Stephens Episcopal
Church in Hurst. She was an employee of Bell Textron for seven years.

Survivors: Husband, Ralph C. Mayfield of Hurst; sons, Steven Mayfield and his wife, Michele, of Fort Worth and William Mayfield and his wife, Marie, of El Paso; daughter, Julie Mayfield and her husband, Jay Walling of Denton; brother, Tom Cowgill of Atlanta; sisters, Virginia De Long of Atlanta, Tex. and Charlene Sebulsky of Joshua; and grandchildren, Jason Mayfield, Claudia Mayfield, Connor Walling, Sam Mayfield and Peter Mayfield.
