Minerva Jane (Menerva) Parks Burns
Named for her father's mother who spelled her name as Manerva. Also sources spell the first name as Menervey and Maenerva. Her tombstone spells the name Menerva. As does the document that lists the cost of her monument signed by her husband Charles Wesley Burns.
Her sad expression is on all the 3 images we have of this lady. My mother said that she had "stomach trouble" all of her life.
Her daugher, my grandmother Nellie, was put up on a box to cook for the family when she was 8 years old due to her mother's poor health.
I have her very tiny metal crochet hook that she used to make fine lacy crochet work.
My Uncle Charles born in 1916 remembered that she kept pennies in her apron for him.

children:
Alta Sherman ("Jack") (1883-1956)
Nellie Jane(1887-1954)
Flora Ann (1893-1980)
Ruth (1895-1974)
Charles, died as child
Twins, inf.
Lettie, died as child
Eddie, inf.
