She came to the U.S. at the age of 18. She married John Furthmiller in Verdi in 1909. They had 5 children, William, Albert, Mary, Katherine and Margaret. She remarried in 1932 to Adolph Stromberg at Brookings and lived in Lake Benton for 30 years, moving to Sioux Falls to live with her daughter Mary in 1962. Survivors at that time were Albert & wife Pearl , Mary Jensen, Mrs Margret and Husband Ray Dean, Mrs Katherine Whitaker and Husband Vernon, 2 grandchildren, Gene Furthmiller, Betty Whitaker, 2 great grandchildren Tina and Tammy DeHolt, brother Alex of Cedar Rapids,Ia, 2 sisters in Sweden, 4 Step-sons Gus, Paul, Rudy, & Oscar. 2 step daughter Ms Eddie Bartling and Mrs Bill Muller
