Karen Capps, 40, passed away August 18, 2000 in a Wichita Falls, Texas hospital after a brief illness. Karen was born in Vernon, Texas April 15, 1960 to William and Mary Young Huie. She married Marshall Capps on June 6, 1986 in Crowell, Texas. She had worked for many years in her family's restaurant and worked as a secretary with Santa Rosa Telephone Cooperative. Karen was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was a devoted wife and mother, a dutiful daughter and a loyal friend. She was an expert seamstress and a great multi-tasker. Everyone who knew Karen loved her. She was a graduate of Vernon High School and Midwestern State University. She is survived by her husband, Marshall; two sons, Samuel and John and one daughter, Rachel; her parents, William and Mary Huie of Vernon, Texas; two brothers, Billy Huie of Vernon and Richard Huie of New York City; two sisters, Debbie Ranson of Frisco, Texas and Lily Beilharz of Dallas. Pallbearers were Lee Cook, Bob Hankinson, Glen Methvin, Justin Carthel, Josh Cook and Danny Carthel.
