Charles Weaver Evans son of
Aaron A. and Malinda I. Evans
was born April 7, 1883 near Monterey,
Iowa where he spent most
of his life. On November 29, 1958
he passed away at his home in
Monterey after a short illness at
the age of 75 years, 7 months and
22 days. He was reared in Davis
county and educated in its public
schools having attended the
Southern Iowa normal in Bloomfield,
and furthered his education
with work from Drake University.
Charles spent many years teaching
in the public schools of Davis
County. He also did carpenter
work.
He was a member of the Monterey
Christian Church.
In 1903 he was married to
Ethell Forsythe of Moulton, Iowa,
but within the year the marriage
was tragically ended by the
untimely death of the wife and
infant son.

In 1906 he was married to Cora
Amelang of Ottumwa, Iowa. To
this union was born four boys
and one girl: Keith T. of Ottumwa,
Iowa; Kenneth M., Kyle V.,
Kennen Q., and Kathleen C of
Monterey. He was preceded in
death by both parents, two sisters,
Viola and Vietta. He leaves
to revere his memory, his wife,
Cora, all of his children; grandchildren:
Michael, Steven, Sandra,
and Sharon Evans. Two sisters:
Estella Johnson and Iva
Horn; one brother Will L. Evans
of Monterey, and many other relatives
and friends. His presence
will.be greatly missed among his
family and friends..
Funeral services were conducted
by Quentin Johnson from the
Wagler Funeral Home Tuesday
December 2 at 1:30 P. M. Interment
was made in the Johnson
Cemetery. Music was furnished
by Mrs. Margaret Johnson and
Mrs. Thelma Starr.
