Thomas Earl McCune, 101, Harrisonville, Mo., formerly of Topeka, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at a Harrisonville nursing home.
He was born Sept. 27, 1901, in Phillipsburg, Mo., to James Earl McCune and Drucilla Phillips McCune.
Thomas lived most of his life in Topeka. He was a steamfitter for various builders in the area. He retired in 1972.
He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Local No. 441.
He married Irene E. McCune on May 30, 1947, in Atchison. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include six children; and three generations of grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Thomas Earl McCune will lie in state at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
