Walter was born October 30, 1927 in Pekin, IL, to the late Roy Brees and Velva Wheeler Brees.
He was a retired tool and die maker with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Walter enjoyed fishing, camping, yard work and dancing, especially square dancing. He was also a member of the Good Sam camping club.
He is survived by his wife of years, Ira Mae Brees, sons: Larry (Ann) of Hutson, FL and Steve (Pati) of Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren: Regina (Jamie), Toby, Katie, Brittney, Steve, Nicole (Nikki) and Megan, great grandchildren: Shelby, Jilyen, Mason, Hudson and Peyton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Roy, Elmer, Wendy and a sister: Betty as well as a daughter Vanessa.
The relatives and friends of Mr. Walter Brees are invited to attend his funeral services, September 29, 2012, at eleven o'clock a.m. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
