Funeral: A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Granbury. Interment: 3 p.m. in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.
Pallbearers will be Chad Baker, Ross Baker, Darrell Barrow, Crew Barrow, Cole Barrow and Maj. Alan Springston.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either First Christian Church, Granbury, Texas, or Richland Hills Christian Church, Richland Hills, Texas.
Faye was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Hutchins to Rene and Lucy Sears. After graduation from Wilmer-Hutchins High School, she went on to earn a B.S. in elementary education from Texas Christian University, followed by a master's degree in education from Texas Woman's University. An outstanding educator, Faye taught at Glenview Elementary, Richland Elementary and Richland High School before serving as a special education consultant for the Region XI Service Center in Fort Worth.
"The perfect preacher's wife," she met and married the love of her life, Hugh, while she was playing the organ and he was a student pastor at First Christian Church of Hutchins. She supported his ministry by serving as pianist and organist at Richland Hills Christian Church. Her later years were blessed by her friends at First Christian Church in Granbury. Faye was happiest when surrounded by her family. Her vibrant, generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, the Rev. Hugh R. Baker, and sons, Mack Baker and Gary Baker, D.D.S.
Survivors: Son, Alan W. Baker, D.D.S., and wife, Linda, of North Richland Hills; daughter, Rene Baker of Granbury; brother, Rene Sears and wife, Derema, of Arlington; sister, Babe Williams of Richardson; grandchildren, Teresa Barrow and Chad Baker of North Richland Hills, Christa Springston, M.D., of St. Louis, Mo., and Ross Baker of San Francisco, Calif.; five great-grandchildren; a multitude of nieces and nephews; and her "angel," Pam Stanley.
