Mike Hicks, 64, of Richmond, MO died at 3:03 a.m., on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. Mike was born on May 29, 1947 in Richmond to Clarence Alton and Thelma Marie (Denning) Hicks. Survivors include his mother, Thelma Hicks of Richmond; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kelli Mergen and her husband, David of Kansas City, MO and Michelle Bustamante and her husband, Dez of Kansas City, MO; 7 grandchildren, Kiefer Mergen, Corbin Clevenger, Madison Mergen, Santina Bustamante, Onna Bustamante, Donovan Bustamante and Emma Bustamante; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margie Bowman and her husband, Norman of Richmond and Debi Ballew of Richmond Mike was preceded in death by his father. Mike was a truck driver for Waller Trucking. He was a lifelong resident of Richmond. He was of the Christian faith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mike Hicks memorial fund.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Sunny Slope Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans in Richmond.
