SEWELL KENNETH BABER

Sewell Kenneth Baber, eldest of five children born to Walter and Nancy Baber, was born in Warren County, Iowa July 8, 1897 and departed this life at the Memorial Hospital in Chariton on November 16, 1965 at the age of 68 years, four months and eight days.

His last illness had kept him bedfast at his home and in the hospital for many months.

He was married to Marjorie Langford in 1918. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Forrest (Frances) Sevedge of Chariton, Kenneth L. Baber of Vista, Calif, and Mrs. Lloyd (Madlyne) Chappell of Stratford.

Other survivors include a daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, six grandchildren, one brother, Leonard of Chariton, one sister, Mrs. Edward Stone of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arthur of Chariton and Lloyd of Eldon.

He made his confession of faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Christian church of Chariton. He was a patient sufferer. His spirit of patience in his illness was a source of strength to his family and friends.

Services were conducted at the Miley Chapel Friday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur officiating. Interment was at the Chariton cemetery.
