Arthur E. Kyle, 92, Morrisons Cove Home of Martinsburg, formerly of 1624 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., died Wednesday morning, Nov. 1,2000, in the home after a brief illness.
Mr. Kyle was born Aug. 22,1908, in Huntingdon, the son of the late George and Edna (Glunt) Kyle. He married Maude A. Fogle on June 10,1937, in Altoona. She died March 10,1999.
Mr. Kyle was a member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church. He retired as an electrician from the Pennsylvania Railroad on Sept. 1,1969, after 42 years of service and had owned Interstate Tax Service for 10 years.
Mr. Kyle enjoyed building things, woodworking, fishing, stamp and coin collecting, and his goal was to visit every covered bridge in Pennsylvania.
He was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School.
Surviving are five children: Darwin, Linda J. Aveni and Roger, all of Altoona, Patricia A. Clawson of Williamsburg and Faye B. Kyle of Hollidaysburg; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister.-Betty DeHaas of El Cajon, Calif.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.
