Mrs. Sarah Lilly, formerly of Flat Top, died Dec. 14, 2007, in Charleston, S.C., following a long battle with cancer.

Born April 21, 1935, at Dunns, W.Va., she was the daughter of June Moye Lilly of Shady Spring, and the late Charles Hatcher.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William J. Bolen; her second husband, Freddie Lilly; and a sister, Lois Guard.

Mrs. Lilly was a member of the Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church at Flat Top. She enjoyed cooking, hunting, gardening, and collecting. Mrs. Lilly was a wonderful and brave person, whose ready smile and good nature made her a joy to all who cared for her.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, at the Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel, with Elder Jerry McGrady and Elder Tommy Pack officiating. Burial will follow at the Reid Cemetery in Spanishburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Charleston, S.C., or The American Cancer Society.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
