Frederick W. Beesley, 94, passed away Sunday evening at Michaud Residential Home, Fulton. Mr. Beesley was the son of the late Frederick W. Beesley Sr., and Delaphine Beesley, born July 2, 1915, in Newark, NY. Fred attended Batavia High School and after high school, he entered the Civilian Conservation Corps and ended that service at Camp 29, which built Selkirk State Park from 1934 to 1937. He was husband of the late Leone Graves Beesley and is survived by his brother-in-law, DeMilt R. Graves of Mexico. He served in WWII with the US Navy Sea Bees 61st Batalion in the Philipinnes Islands from 1943 to 1945. He was a 25-year employee of General Electric Corp. and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mexico since 1939. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday from Mexico Village Cemetery, Academy St., Mexico, NY, with Rev. William O'Niel officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m. from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico, NY.
