Richard "LeRoy" Bennett 92, of Rio Oso, passed away on August 24, 2010 at Alta Manor in Roseville, CA with family members at his side.
He was born on April 15, 1918 in Kansas and was as Yuba Sutter resident for 72 years. He was a rancher for 65 years. He farmed walnuts and peaches. He was a Former Board Member at the Fairview Community Church; a Member of the Sutter County Farm Bureau; a Former Board Member at the Brown Elementary School; Former Director of the South Sutter Irrigation District and a Former Member of the Peach Tree Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Leora Bennett of Rio Oso, CA; daughters, Bonnie Gardner of Wheatland, CA, and JoElla Bennett Huwe of Antelope, CA; grandchildren, John, Darryl, Anna, Jason, Linda, Jim, & Hettie; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2pm-8pm on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel. Memorial Services will be at 11am on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Fairview Community Church in Trowbridge, CA with Pastor Michael Cook officiating.
