A former resident of Portland, Robert E. Moreland, 42, of North Bend, died Sunday at a Portland hospital following a prolonged illness.
Mr. Moreland was born April 14, 1922 in Portland and attended Grant High School and the University of Iowa.
He married Margaret Weitman of Portland in 1943 and the family lived in Portland and Longview, Wash. Before moving to North Bend in 1961.
Survivors include the widow, two sons, Earl and Everett; three daughters Ellen, Ruth, and Mary of North Bend; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon W. Moreland who reside at Willamette View Manor in Milwaukie; a sister, Mrs. Clifford Bassett Milwaukie; and a brother Dr. Ferrin B. Moreland of Houston, Tex.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
The family suggests that any remembrance be in the form of contributions to the Leukemia Society of Portland.
