He was born in the Detroit and Buckeye communities, the son of Edgar Emmanuel and Ethel Irene (McFerran) Anderson. He attended Harmony Grade School and Chapman High School.

He married JoAnn Rollf on February 10, 1950, at Brown Memorial Home, Abilene, KS. They lived all of their married life in Chapman.

Mr. Anderson was a truck driver for Clyde Haynes. He also worked at the Teichgraeber Elevator for 25 years and was a truck driver for Walker Stone Co. for 16 years, before retiring in 2001. Following his retirement, he worked for Lola Miller at the Midway Cafe, Detroit, and was a bartender at the American Legion, Chapman.

He was a Charter Member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 240, Chapman for 22 years.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn of the home; two sons, Larry E. Anderson of Puyallup, Wash., and Kevin D. Anderson of Detroit; one sister, Wilma Myers of Fresno Calif.; on brother, Leo Anderson of Abilene; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by on son, Steve Anderson; on daughter. Linda Anderson; five sisters, Beverly Anderson, Shirley Anderson, Virginia Reaves, Gladys Cain and Madeline Brackie; and two brothers, Wesley Anderson and Loyd Anderson.
