Daughter of the late Billy and Lissie Mae Bass Gallagher, she was the widow of Sam Cannady. Additionally, she was preceded in death by a brother, B.J. Gallagher, and two sisters, Jessie Morrell and Ruby Turner. She was a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church where her funeral was held on April 8, 2007, with The Rev. Lee Merck, The Rev. Roger White and The Rev. Dudley Neal officiating. She was a retired seamstress. She was survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Cannady and Norma Jean Jackson; a son, Samuel "Sammie" Lee Cannady and his wife Diane; a sister, Sudie Jones; a brother, Morris Gallagher; four grandchildren, Steve Owens, Sandra Cox, Donnie Cannady, and Laura Glover; nine great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives.
