ROCHELLE - Melissa Sue "Missy" (St. George) McNamee, of Rochelle, went home to rest with the Heavenly Father on Christmas Day after a courageous battle with a brain tumor.
She was born Feb. 21, 1956, in Galesburg, to Richard and Elizabeth (Harrison) St. George. She married Fred McNamee Aug. 7, 1982, in Galesburg. Missy and Fred were blessed with two children, Megan Elizabeth, 27, and Sean Patrick, 23.
Missy was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was dedicated to providing a life full of love and encouragement to Fred, Megan and Sean. She lived each day with a smile on her face and a laugh on her lips. Missy brought joy into the lives of others with her good-natured disposition and witty humor. It was impossible to spend time with her and not have a good laugh.
Missy truly was blessed to have found a calling in her life as a speech pathologist. She worked for the Ogle County Educational Co-op for more than 20 years. She loved to talk, and cherished giving others the gift of speech.
Missy is survived by her husband, Fred, daughter, Megan (Adam Grad), and son, Sean, all of Rochelle; her mother, Elizabeth St. George of Galesburg; her four siblings; and many cousins, nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle or Ogle County Hospice.
