ROCHELLE - Mina Elizabeth Hartjen, 100, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at Rochelle Healthcare East.

She was born Jan. 7, 1900, in Rochelle, the daughter of William and Martha (Eckhardt) Beck.

She married Martin Hartjen, March 1, 1924, in Rockford. He preceded her March 15, 1989.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Rochelle and the Eastern Star, Salome Chapter.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hartjen was preceded by two brothers, Eugene and Adam; and two sisters, Tillie Myroth and Dorothy Gruben.

Survivors include two nieces, Deanna (Joe) Pinion of DeKalb and Frances Sanderson of Rochelle; a nephew, William (Joan) Myroth of Creston, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 7, with Rev. Chris Beamsley, officiating.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 6, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle, with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 p.m.

Interment will be at Lawnridge Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
