Frances Ann was born in St. Francis, Arkansas, the first of five children born to Joseph "H.B." Drisskill (1824-Aft. 1861) and Mary Polly Ayers (1831-1920). She also had a half-sister, Castera Standifer (1873-1894), from her mother's marriage to John Echols Standifer (1811-1887).
