Edward Apple was the oldest son of Daniel Apple and Elizabeth Wert. He was born January 29, 1860 in Whitley County, Indiana. It's there that he met and married Miranda Jane Barton. The Bartons were residents of Elkhart County, Indiana. Edward and Miranda were the parents of 4 children, Harry Daniel, Charley, Otto Grover, and Mary E. Charley died when he was just a child. Shortly after Otto's birth in October of 1889, Edward and Miranda moved their family to Belmont Township, Iroquois County, Illinois. About 3½ years later, their daughter Mary was born in June 1893. A year later Miranda passed away on June 4, 1894. Edward returned to Whitley County after his parents' death in 1907. It is highly possible that he inherited his parents' home. Edward moved to Indianapolis sometime between 1910 and 1920. He passed away on May 7, 1920 in Indianapolis.
