Met Death. in Shaft.
The sad news of the death of Guy Monroe Arnett reached Bieber last
Mr, Arnett and Mr. H. P. Anderson were ingaged in placing a new set
of timbers in the shaft of the Hayseed mine on Brush Hill, an extension
of Hayden Hill, and standing upon a temporary platform 125 feet from
the bottom of the shaft.
The accident occurred about 3 o'clock. when the platform gave away,
first on the end Arnett was standing, thus giving Anderson time to reach
for the bucket which he caught.
Mr. Arnett evidently landed at the bottom on his head as the head was

Deceased was 35 years of age and leaves a mother, wife and four
children, a sister, two brothers, and other relatives, to mourn his

Services and funeral were held at the Adin cemetery Sunday.
Deputy Coroner J. F. Salcido was notified and held the inquest
