DIES AT HOME OF HER SON

Ripon, Wis., Mrs. Ellen Banville, 77, a resident of Ripon and locality practically all her life, died Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of her son J. Harold Banville, South Grove street. Although she had been in poor health for a considerable period, Mrs. Banville's condition of late had been improved and death was unexpected.
She was born Oct 21, 1860, at Melbourne, Australia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Griese, and came to this country when 4 years old, with her parents, who settled in Ripon.
Her father was engaged in mason work for a number of years before moving to a farm near Pickett. The family later returned to Ripon to reside. She was married in 1900 to Martin Banville, and they resided on a farm near pickett, where her husband died in 1906. Since that time the widow had lived in Ripon.
Surviving are two sons, J. Harold Banville, science instructor at Ripon High School, and Roy Banville of Pickett, one brother James Griese of North Battlefield, Saskatchewan, Canada, three sisters, Mrs. William Lovell, Omro; Mrs. Mary Johnson and Miss Marie Griese, Ripon, and five grandchildren.
The Rev.Vincent Thomas will conduct funeral services at St. Patrick's church Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in St.Patrick's cemetery.
