Aged 20 years; wife of Luther Hatch, daughter of Orrin & Jane Howe.
Luther Hatch married 19 year old Polly Howe in Lodi Michigan on January 6, 1836. She was a young child of 13 when they first met while he lived in Lodi between 1829 and 1832. In 1832, Luther move west to East DuPage (now Lisle), Illinois to farm and help settle that area at the edge of the frontier. When she became of age to marry, they wed in Lodi and she moved west with Luther.
She died a little more than 14 months after their marriage. Her father, Orin Howe, was the first postmaster of Lodi (now Ann Arbor) and served on the early Michigan territory legislature.
