Joseph Arthur Beegle
RACINE - Joseph Arthur Beegle, 59, widely known Racine resident, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Beegle had left his home in Racine in his pickup truck for his employment. However it was believed that he had become ill and was attempting to return home. Sheriff Robert Hartenbach said that Mr. Beegle's truck struck a utility pole in front of his residence and then went up an enbankment. Mr. Beegle fell from the vehicle and received lacerations of the face. He was taken to Meigs General Hospital by the Racine Emergency Squad and was pronounced dead upon arrival. An autopsy is to be performed today.
Mr. Beegle was a member of the Racine Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a Shriner of Aladdin Temple and a member of the Racine Fire Department. He was Republican central committeeman for a number of years in Racine and belonged to International Local 132, Operators and Engineers, Charleston, W.Va.
Surviving are his wife, Cora; a daughter, Shirley, and a son, Arthur (Buzz) both at home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ewing Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday.
The Racine Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
