Served as City Marshall, Street Commissioner, City Clerk, Mayor of Dakota City, NE. Served as Councilman and Mayor of Red Cloud, NE. Was County Clerk, Clerk of the District Court, County Recorder of Webster County, NE. Husband of Elmira Mitchell Bayha whom he married October 19, 1871 in Dakota City, Dakota, Nebraska. His mother was Elizabeth C Eckhardt who died of yellow fever on August 4, 1854 in Wheeling.
