The Carnegie Herald, Wed., Nov. 30, 1949 McCullough Rites Will Be Thursday, Greenfield Church
Mrs. Ernest McCullough died in Anadarko early Tuesday, just two days after moving into her new home there. She had lived in the East Spring Valley district, 14 miles southeast of Carnegie, the past 44 years. She was 72 years old.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Greenfield Mennonite church and burial will be in the Pine Ridge cemetery under direction of the Harvey funeral home of Fort Cobb. Rev. C.D. Boese, pastor, and Rev. Henry Hege will conduct the services.
Mrs. McCullough became ill in October and entered an Anadarko hospital where she underwent an operation. As she improved, she and Mr. McCullough decided to leave the farm and bought a new home in Anadarko to which she was taken Sunday.
Elizabeth Gertrude Pohlman was born Sept. 5, 1877, near Kahoka,Mo., where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Ernest M. McCullough Jan. 3, 1905, and soon after they came to Caddo county, locating in the community where they lived until a few days ago.
In early life she became a member of the Evangelical church and was an active church worker during the early development of the country. In recent years, she and her husband have been regular attendants of the Greenfield church.
Survivors are her husband, Ernest M. McCullough; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Mason, Norman, and three sons, of the home community, Johnny, Lawrence and Wesley. Also a sister, Mrs. Nettie Hienge; a brother, John Pohlman, and a half-brother, Phillip Frank, all of Kohoka, Mo., and seven grandchildren, as well as other near relatives.
