Pearl "Louise" Carmack, 77, of Chambersburg, PA, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at her daughter's residence in Hagerstown, MD following a brief struggle with Leukemia. Born January 16, 1932 in Shady Grove, PA, she was a daughter of Helen M. Brandt Decker Beaver of Greencastle, and the late Robert C. Decker. Louise was employed for many years at the former Stanley Company and later retired from Martin's Restaurant in Chambersburg. She was a former member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of the former Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cake decorating, being a foster mother, and babysitting. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving husband, Vaughn H. N. Carmack, whom she married June 21, 1952 in Columbia, PA; two children, Rhonda Y. McDermott and husband John D., Jr. of Hagerstown, MD, Shayne S. Carmack of Fayetteville, PA; a grandson, Ryan S. Carmack; and a foster daughter, Tammy Breon and husband Doug of Chambersburg. She is also survived by two brothers, Charles L. Decker of Massachusetts and Fred M. Decker of Greencastle; and three step-brothers, Verdeen, Wayne, and Donnie Beaver. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Stine and Joan Kauffman; and a brother, Robert Decker. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, July 25, 2009 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Lester F. Stine will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
