Arthurs, W. Blanche - At the Welland County General Hospital, on Sunday September 28, 2003 in her 89th year. Cherished wife of the late Carl Arthurs 2002. Beloved mother of W.E. Arthurs Elizabeth of Port Colborne, Robert Arthurs Lynne and Gary Arthurs Bonnie, all of Welland. Loving grandmother of Trish, Joni, Jamie, Bryan & Phil. Loved sister of John D. Dutot Carol of Sombra, Audrey Matheson and Mary Huffman, both of Leamington. Also predeceased by parents Edwin & Edith Dutot, brothers Eric, Rex & Ted and sisters Margaret & Joy. Born in Staples, Essex County, Ontario, Mrs. Arthurs lived in Ottawa and Beamsville before moving to Welland in 1949. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Welland, where she taught Beginners Sunday School Class, Brownies and Guides Leadership and was active in the Women's Association of the Church. Mrs. Arthurs was the first Woman Moderator of the Niagara-Hamilton Association of Baptist Churches. As well, she organized Home and School Groups at various Welland Schools, was a member of the Welland Library Board for many years and was Chairman during the most recent major renovation of the Welland Library. Friends and family are invited to visit at the H. L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, September 30th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service conducted by Reverend's Ronald Latullippe and Rene Brochu will be held from First Baptist Church, Welland, on Wednesday, October 1st at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
