Died at Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born at Pettigrew, the son of Sheridan and Callie Wages Cowan. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Bentonville. He was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a farmer. He moved to this area in 1940 from Missouri.


Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Cowan of Springdale, Keith Cowan of College Station TX, and Jerald Cowan of Madisonville TX; one brother, Jim Cowan of Bentonville; one sister, Bonnie Hart of Downs KS; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
