Eular Tyler Clayton was born August 10, 1914 in Bunkie, Louisiana to the union of the late Ezekiel Tyler and Appolonia Smith-Tyler. She worked as a cook for 35 years. She fostered many children. her door and heart was opened to many who called her, "Mother."
Eular knew Christ at an early age. Upon her arrival to Texas, she joined Rock Island Baptist Church and later united with Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Curch where she served as President of the Usher Board as well as Circle and Mission Meetings. She was also a faithful "prayer warrior" with the Berean Bible and Prayer Band.
Eular was united in holy matrimony to Lawrence Clayton, Sr. and to this union seven children were born.
Eular was called from labor to reward on Thursday, February 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by both her parents; one daughter, Helen Clayton-Lennette; two sons, McArthur Clayton and Lawrence Clayton, Jr.; two brothers, Houston Tyler and Booker Tyler; and two sisters, Queen Ester Tyler and Lucille Tyler.
Cherishing her memories are: one son, Samuel Clayton, Sr.; three daughters, Ethel C. Broussard, Ruby J. Clayton, and Leona Clayton-Victor; 27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Keaton Nash officiating. Interment will foll0w at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
