Enlisted as a Private on 9 February 1865 at the age of 18 in Company B, 195th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 15 March 1865. Mustered Out Company B, 195th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 18 December 1865 at Washington, DC.

1880: Boarding 106 W Market St, Wabash, Indiana. Husband of Mary. Occupation: Typesetter. Wife's occupation: Dressmaker.

Applied for Civil War disability penson on 7 August 1891.

1900: Residing 236 N Huntington St, Wabash, Indiana. Husband of Mary; parents of Fred, Harold and Robin. Occupation: Editor.

Cause of death: Heart disease.

OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - February 22, 1908
The funeral of A. M. Gibson will be held at the Wabash Street M. E. church tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Those who wish to view the remains may call at the house between nine and twelve o'clock in the morning.

At the church Rev. G. B. work will officiate. He will be assisted by Rev. W. J. Vigus. The church choir will furnish music, which will be as nearly what Mr. Gibson would have wished as possible.

The G.A.R. will have charge of the burial. There will be eight pallbearers, two chosen from the G.A.R., two from the Knights of Pythias, two from the Royal Arcanum and two from the Wabash Street Methodist church. The G.A.R. will march to the church in a body. The Knights of Pythias will act as escort, both organizations meeting in their respective halls about two o'clock in the afternoon. The G.A.R. will have charge of the burial, the ceremonies being in charge of Dr. R. F. Blount, commander. The following pallbearers were selected for the funeral. For church, A.F. Ebbinghouse, James P. Ross; for G.A.R., Capt. William M. Henley, William Wilson; for Knights of Pythias, Charles S. Rose, George C. Bacon; for Royal Arcanum, Charles S. Haas, J.A. Courtright.
