Born in Scotland and immigrated to Ontario in 1847 with his parents. He had a carriage shop in Oxford Co in 1862 and later in Bealton, Townsend Tp Norfolk Co Ontario. He also had a blacksmith shop in Bealton next to the carriage shop. His father, James was a carriage maker as was David's son, David Randolph Galloway. He bought his homestead in 1872 in Bealton Lot 19 Conc 2.
