Thanks to Cemetery Hopper for the following:
Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 6 Apr 1882 p3: "Rufus Bessey, an aged citizen of Albion, was gored to death by a bull Thursday night [slight discrepancy]. Mr. Bessey, being infirm and nearly blind, had been forbidden going near the cattle, but that night, he went to the barn and found that the bull was loose. The bull at once attacked Mr. Bessey, who, though being wounded quite badly managed to make his escape and creep into the house and tell his brother what had happened. He died in a short time."
