H. HENDRICKS RITES TUESDAY
Services for Harold Hendricks, 68, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Stone Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Manker, of the United Methodist Church, will officiate and he will be assisted by the Durand Lodge No. 344 F. and A.M. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hendricks died March 6 at McAllen, Texas.
He was born June 28, 1906 in Petoskey and attended Petoskey schools before moving to Mt. Pleasant, then to Flint with his family.
On April 4, 1925 he married the former Zora Vermillya in Flint. The couple resided there until 1945 when they moved to Petoskey.
While in Flint, Mr. Hendricks was employed at Chevrolet Motors as a tool and die foreman. In Petoskey he worked as an electrical engineer. He also operated Sperry Electric, in Petoskey, for six years and was employed as service manager for Montgomery Ward for 13 years.
Mr. Hendricks retired in 1971 and the couple moved to Pickeral Lake. They spent the winter months in Mission, Texas.
He was a life member of the Shrine and a member of the Knights Templar. He was twice past master and currently served as treasurer of the Durand Lodge No. 344 F. and A.M. and was a member of the Bay City Consistory; the Indian River Golf Club and he attended the Methodist Church.
Besides the wife, he is survived by one son, James, of Bartlett, Tenn; two daughters, Mrs. Basil (Mary Lou) Switzer of South Haven and Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Rought, of Petoskey; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
