He was born in Stevenson, Ala., to Harry and Beulah Arnold on Aug. 12, 1930. He lived with his family in Stevenson until he graduated from high school in 1948.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950, and served during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged in 1954 after serving his term.
While attending Wichita State University, he met and married Dolores Lee Morrison on June 27, 1954. He graduated from Wichita State University with a master's degree in business administration in 1958. In 1966, Harold moved his family to Lewiston where he was employed by Potlatch Corp. as a tax manager. He retired from Potlatch Corp. in August 1995 as a senior vice president of the tax division.
During this time he was active as a Little League coach, scoutmaster and was a member of the Elks. He served on the board of directors of the Northwest Children's Home, the Boy Scouts of America and Lewis-Clark Valley Boys Club. Harold and Dolores also ran an ACBL certified bridge club for more than 30 years.
Harold enjoyed playing bridge, camping, fishing, boating, traveling and working in his yard. He loved watching sports and had a stint with the St. Louis Cardinals organization as a catcher.
His main source of pride and joy was spending time with his family and friends, including his puppies, Nikkie and Kita, and his cat, Sydney.

Harold's life transcended many boundaries. His true worth will not be measured just in his actions, but also in the way he touched the lives of those around him. Those nearest him will remember his willing smile, his sense of compassion, honesty, integrity, and his ability to see the good in any situation. We Love You.
