Thomas Chester Barham was educated in Milton schools and graduated from Burdett Business School. Hilma and Thomas were married in 1903 They had two children and the second one did not survive childhood. Thomas worked his whole career for one company in the Brockton shoe industry, the Stacy Adams Co., in Brockton, Massachusetts. Thomas worked for the shoe company from his late teens and up to his late seventies and he was a member of the union: Brotherhood Of Shoe And Allied Craftsman in Brockton, Massachusetts. Thomas and Hilma purchased a Abington home in 1912 for $700 and lived there for almost 50 years. They resided in Abington from 1905 to 1961 and upon Hilma's passing moved in with his son Thomas Chester Barham in Carver, Massachusetts. His hobby was a ham radio operator and a member of several radio clubs. Some of Thomas's favorite sayings were "what came first the chicken or the egg?" and "live your life in hope and die in despair". Thomas was very familiar with the Bible in its entirety.
