Obituary as published in The Telegraph-Forum, Bucyrus, Ohio, Thursday, May 26, 1927:
DEATH ENDS TWO YEARS OF ILLNESS
Crestline, May 26.- William O. Frankland, 64, died at 7:05 o'clock Wednesday evening at his home, 123 North Wiley street after being ill for two years and bedfast the past ten days with a complication of diseases.
Funeral services will be held tonight at 8 o'clock from the home and Friday morning the body will be taken to East Palestine, leaving Crestline via the Pennsylvania on train number 118, for burial.
Mr. Frankland was a conductor on the Pennsylvania railroad, eastern division until two years ago when his health failed. He was a member of the O.R.C. and was held in high esteem in Crestline.
He was the son of John A. and Jane (Fenton) Frankland and was born in Rockdale, England April 13, 1863. He came to this country when a young man. Thirty-five years ago he was married to Ibbie J. Cutshall at Allegheny, Pa. Three children were born to this union, two surviving, Meade and Louisa at home. A daughter Margaret died in 1906.
Three brothers, Abel at Baden, Pa., John at Allegheny, Pa., and Charles at East Palestine, and four sisters, Sarah Niely at Darlington, Pa., Mary Holckliss of Waynesburg, Pa., Anna Linsey East Palestine and Martha Kennedy of New Brighton, Pa., survive.

(Contributor's notes: Suspect that the Rockdale mentioned is actually Rochdale, England, as the former doesn't appear to exist. Daughter Margaret's tombstone indicates that she died in 1905, not 1906. Daughter Louisa M. Frankland Shoemaker died in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1993, but is not listed on this site.)
