"Freddie Gene Capshaw, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City after a prolonged illness. Fred was born on August 9, 1927, in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. He attended school in Oklahoma City.

He enlisted in the US Navy during WWII and served on the USS Hansford. Upon his return he went into the construction business with his father and brother. He moved to Caspar, Wyoming, during the early 50's where he went to work in the oilfield. He worked his way up to be owner of Capshaw Well Service. He was also the owner of Liberty Pipe and Supply, Gulfport Pipe and Supply, Rocky Mountain Cementers, and Kansas Drilling and Well Service.

He retired from his business ventures and moved back to Oklahoma City in 1982 where he became a full time minister and founded Preach Unto Them: Jesus Ministries.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy Roesler Capshaw. His surviving sons include: Carrol Gene (Butch) Capshaw, Davey Loudellion Capshaw, Gary Gene Capshaw, Michael Reed Capshaw; stepsons Charles Mark Updegraff and William Heath Updegraff; two brothers, Tommie Dean Capshaw of Evansville, Indiana and Kenneth E. Capshaw of Oklahoma City; twenty grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father, Clifford Burton Capshaw and mother, Carmelita Jenny Quillen Capshaw; brothers Jimmie Lee Capshaw and Clifford Burton Jr. (Oley) Capshaw.

Fred was a man greatly loved whose life was a testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ. His witness affected and encouraged many.

Visitation will be Tuesday, noon to 8 pm at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK, 73008. Service will be Wednesday, 10 am, at Preach Unto Them: Jesus Church, 2101 NW 16th Street."
