Otto Foye Combs, 84, of the Kirby Addition, Princeton, left the arms of his family entering into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, December 11, 2011. He was born June 29, 1927 at Leewood and was the son of the late Pearlie Combs & Beulah Clark Combs. Mr. Combs was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy Sea Bees; he was stationed in the Philippines. He was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. Mr. Combs was a professional truck driver, having driven for the Kroger Company of Roanoke VA and Bluefield Beverage, Bluefield, VA for over 40 years. He had attended Community Baptist Church in Bluefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gray French Combs, al0ng with five sisters; Estella Casto, Margie Otto, Judy Malimasura, Dorothy Hager and Candy Kidd and one brother, James Combs. He will be lovingly remembered by his son and his wife, Ronald "Ronnie" & Cathy Combs of Bluefield; One grandson and his wife, Matthew & Vanessa Combs of Glenwood; Three great grandchildren, Terry, Alexis & Cody; One sister, Lucille Johnson of Michigan; One brother, Russell Combs of Princeton. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 15, 2011 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Carl Stanton officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with the U.S. Navy Honor Guard conducting the graveside services. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. The honor of serving as pallbearers has been given to Dave Morgan, Melvin Thompson, Kenny Thompson, Roger Roberts, Johnny Poole and Dave Honaker.
