CHOCOWINITY, N.C. - Jerry Lee Copley, 59, of Chocowinity, N.C., formerly known from the Hampton area, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital in North Carolina. Jerry worked as an educator, administrator and mentor for nearly 30 years around the Commonwealth, including King George, Wise and Lancaster counties. He recently retired in May in North Carolina with his loving wife, Loretta Lee. Jerry is also survived by his two children, Cole and Darragh, and two brothers, Rocky and Tony. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave., Hampton. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
