Eldon T. Jones, 83, born August 12, 1923 in Sidney Neb., passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007, at his home. There will be viewing on Wednesday, March 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home, Ustick Chapel, Meridian. Graveside services will be held March 22, 2007, at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery at 11 a.m., with Pastor Gary Allen of New Hope Christian Church to officiate. Arrangements by Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. Eldon moved to Caldwell, Idaho as a child and graduated from Caldwell High School. He met Grace I. Thorson at the Troy laundry where they both worked, and married in 1948. They lived in Boise a number of years and then built their home in Meridian, Idaho. Eldon was a member of Red Rock Christian Church, and helped with the building of the church. He later became a charter member of New Hope Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda G. Nelson. He is survived by his wife Grace, and his family, Randy and Lucy Jones and Jan and Don Smith; his grandchildren Jennie and Davis Vandervelde, Angela Lloyd, Chelsa and Mike Smith; and his great-grandchildren, Ally Lloyd and Pierce Vandervelde.
