Sheldon – Frank Dougherty, 82, of Sheldon, died March 29, at the Sheldon Community Memorial Hospital.
Services were held April 1 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon with Rev. Gerald Fisch of Kingsley and Msgr. Cletus Keleher of Sheldon officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home. The Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. March 31 by the Knights of Columbus ,at the funeral home, and at 8 p.m. by the Parish.
Mr. Dougherty was born Oct. 4, 1892 in Sheldon. He married Pearl Murphy Oct. 10, 1925 in Glendive, Mont. She died in 1962. He owned and operated the Sheldon Concrete Works for 45 years until his retirement in 1962.
He was a member of the Sheldon Historical Society, Eagles Aerie 2297, Knights of Columbus Lodge 1564 and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War 1.
Pallbearers were James McCarty, Bill Mulhern, Roy Murphy, Dennis Mulhern, Warren Vanden Brink and Joe Mulhern.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
