When his half-sister, Magdalena Geil Lindenstruth, suddenly died in 1854, Jacob and his wife Mary cared for two of her children: Frederick (age 3) and Theckla Lindenstruth (an infant), when their father, John Lindenstruth, went to Macon, GA.
Jacob and his wife Mary had a large farm in White Bluff and sold vegetables at the market in Savannah. According to some records, Jacob was an out-spoken critic of the War Between the States. However, the Union army destroyed their buildings and crops during the war.

Gravesite Details
Jacob's grave marker has his birth date as 15 Jun 1804. His birth and baptismal dates in the church records are very clearly written and are different from the marker. Note photos are before and after cleaning. New photo courtesy of Ally, 2013.
